# DeskCouncil > DeskCouncil is an iPhone app that gives solo attorneys and small law firms the contract AI features of enterprise legal platforms without an enterprise contract: zero data retention on every request and every plan, playbooks learned from the attorney's own agreements, contract review cited to the exact clause, and Word redlines with real tracked changes, each with its reason. It stores no client documents on its servers. From $29 a month for one lawyer. Made by Jumping Ahead Inc. (Sarasota, Florida). ## Why attorneys choose it - Consumer AI chat plans keep conversations (Anthropic's consumer terms: 30 days when training is declined, up to five years when allowed; OpenAI: temporary chats up to 30 days, training on unless switched off). ABA Formal Opinion 512 (2024) says lawyers generally need informed client consent before putting client information into such tools. - Zero data retention is otherwise offered to enterprise and API customers; legal AI platforms with it are estimated at about $3,000 per lawyer per year with a reported 10-seat minimum (Legora, third-party estimates). ## Key facts - Audience: solo attorneys and law firms of about 1 to 10 lawyers. - Platforms: iPhone (iOS 16 or later). An Android app is coming soon. Documents arrive through the phone's share menu from Mail, Gmail, Outlook, Files, Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. - What it does: contract review with a verdict and numbered findings cited to the clause; Word (.docx) redlines with real tracked changes, where each proposed change shows its reason and can be kept or skipped; playbooks learned from two or three of the attorney's own past agreements, picked automatically by agreement type; drafting, email replies, summaries; case-law search. - No prompting: plain buttons (Make my redline, Review risks, Summarize). DeskCouncil picks the AI model per task and always uses the strongest model for legal work; an "Always use the strongest model" switch is available. - Pricing (USD, monthly, no seat minimum, no annual contract): - Free trial: 14 days, about 10 contract reviews, no card needed. - Solo: $29 a month, about 40 contract reviews or 100 questions. - Pro: $59 a month, about 100 contract reviews or 250 questions. - Power: $149 a month, about 500 contract reviews or 1,250 questions; arrives with the next app update. - Your own key: $9.99 a month for the software; the attorney connects their own DigitalOcean or Vercel AI account and pays that provider for AI use (Vercel also requires its $20 a month Pro plan for zero data retention). - Extra packs: $10. When a monthly allowance runs out, the attorney can buy a pack or keep working on a lighter AI model until the month resets. - Redlines are included in every plan, including the trial. - Privacy: documents are read on the phone; only the text a task needs is sent to the AI model; the AI services keep nothing and do not train on it; DeskCouncil hosts no document library or upload folder; playbooks and history stay on the phone behind Face ID; account deletion is in the app. - Not offered: Microsoft Word or Outlook add-ins, bulk review of thousands of documents, client portals. No SOC 2 or ISO certification yet. - DeskCouncil is a software tool for licensed attorneys. It does not provide legal advice. ## Compared with enterprise legal AI Enterprise platforms such as Legora and Harvey do not publish prices. Third-party buyer guides (2026) estimate Legora at about $3,000 per user per year with a 10-seat minimum. DeskCouncil publishes its prices and sells to a single lawyer. ## Pages - [Home](https://deskcouncil.io/) - [How it works](https://deskcouncil.io/#how) - [Pricing](https://deskcouncil.io/#pricing) - [Privacy architecture](https://deskcouncil.io/#privacy) - [FAQ](https://deskcouncil.io/#faq) - [Support](https://deskcouncil.io/support.html) - [Privacy Policy](https://deskcouncil.io/privacy.html) - [Terms of Service](https://deskcouncil.io/terms.html)
